NEW TALENT WORKSHOP
November 11 - 14, 2006
DANCE CHICAGO 2006, the illustrious
month-long celebration of dance, is celebrating its 12th anniversary.
This celebration includes appearances by The Joffrey Ballet, Hubbard
Street Dance Chicago, Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, River North Chicago
Dance Company, Luna Negra Dance Theatre, Thodos Dance Chicago, and many
others.
DANCE CHICAGO 2006 NEW
TALENT WORKSHOP is a unique dance workshop created to provide dancers
with a supportive learning and performing environment. We have assembled
an incredible faculty of the finest teachers/choreographers in Chicago,
dedicated to sharing the art of dance through teaching. Class sizes are
limited to only 20 students per session in order to ensure the highest
level of individual attention.

TALENT WORKSHOP is an opportunity for young dancers who seek a
career in dance to study with some of Chicago's most distinguished dance
artists including:

The Stars of Dance Chicago invite you to this new concept in dance
education with an eye on performance.
Be part of the Dance Chicago 2006 New
Talent Workshop!
Not only will you have the opportunity to study with these “stars”,
during the evening, you can purchase tickets to attend a Dance Chicago
performance and watch them live on stage.
Want to be on stage yourself?
As part of the workshop, you will participate in choreographic sessions.
Dancers from these sessions will be selected to appear in Dance Chicago
in the “New Talent Workshop”
piece on November 14, 2006 during Dance Chicago
2006 Dance Slam program! In addition,
you are eligible to participate in the Performance Showcase with a solo,
duo, or group piece. You will receive judges’ critique and may be
invited to perform in the Dance Chicago 2006
Dance Slam program.

Registration Guidelines
~ In order to be eligible to perform and participate in the performance
showcase, registration for the ENTIRE workshop is required.
~ Time limit for solo & duo is up to 3 minutes, and up to 5 minutes
for group piece.
~ If selected; dancer will be required to attend all rehearsals.
~ Registration Fees are non-refundable...
no exceptions
Workshop Uniform
~ Workshop uniform requires: Ballet - black leotard, pink tights and
pink ballet shoes; Jazz - black jazz pants and black jazz shoes; Tap
shoes.
